We are often taught to be self-reliant. Fierce independence feels powerful and free, but it can also be depleting and make asking for help seem like a shortcoming.
We understand. It’s hard to ask for help. But like most shorebirds, we can’t go it alone.
Shorebirds rely on each other. They take turns leading the flock, giving those who are weary a chance to regroup. They live in wide open spaces between land and water, finding shelter with each other more than the environment.
At Shorebird Counselling, our goal is to create a refuge that allows for an openness toward pain without becoming entangled in it. Our hope is that by facing pain in troubled times and finding meaning in it, we can spread our wings and find more room for joy in life. If you’re feeling weary from trying to go it alone, reach out to see if we can support you to regain your strength.
Support. Openness. And courage to soar in an uncertain world.
These are key values at Shorebird Counselling.
